Personnel action requests [PERs]
What is a PER, and when would I use it?
There are 2 versions of a Personnel Action Request, or PER.
PER 1 : used to fill any type of vacancy; requires a completed Exemption Request form, which must be completed and submitted electronically to Human Resources, as well as attached to the PER-1 form. The only exception is for House Officers and Clinical Fellows.
Only full-time Faculty, Unclassified and Classified positions and Student Worker vacancies are posted, unless requested otherwise by the department. The following steps must be completed before Human Resources can extend an offer.
- The PER-1 must be complete, and have final approval.
- If posting is necessary, posting has closed and the interview process is complete.
- Then, all necessary data must be returned to Human Resources Staffing Office.
