Tax savings accounts
There are two ways LSUHSC Shreveport employees can save money and reduce their taxes at the same time ... the Cafeteria Plan, and the Flexible Spending Plan.
The premiums for benefits covered under these plans are paid on a "pre-tax" basis through payroll deduction.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT (FSA)
Employees at LSUHSC Shreveport may elect to take advantage of the Flexible Spending Account (FSA). With pre-tax dollars, you may choose either or both of the following plans:
Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan:
reimbursement for medical, dental and vision expenses that are not reimbursed by your insurance plan. This includes deductibles and co-insurance expenses that have to be paid out-of-pocket at the time services are rendered.
Dependent Care Expense Assistance Plan:
reimbursement for expenses incurred by the employee's child(ren) under the age of 13.
