Your Rights under the Family & Medical Leave Act of 1993

Employees are eligible for FMLA if they have worked at LSU Health Shreveport for at least one year, and for 1,250 hours over the previous 12 months.

Reasons For Taking Leave:

To care for the employee's child after birth, or the adoption or placement of a child;

To care for the employee's parent, spouse, son or daughter (under 18 years of age, unless incapable of self care due to disability) who has a serious health condition;

For a serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform their job.
