Blackberry Set-Up for Enterprise Activation

Now that you have your new blackberry in hand, you are probably ready to start receiving your LSUHSC mail, calendar, and tasks on your device. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the policies regarding Blackberry setup and costs by reading the document located at:

Below are the procedures you need to follow:

  1. Send an email to Rodney Sermons ( rsermo@lsuhsc.edu) to request activation.
  2. Navigate to Settings on your device.
  3. Then go to Options.
  4. Then go to Advanced Options.
  5. Look for Enterprise Activation. If you do not see this, then contact Auxillary Services and verify that your dataplan includes BES services. Enter in your email address. i.e. jdoe@lsuhsc.edu 
  6. Password will usually be go.
  7. If it asks for a server name, just leave it blank.
  8. Activation can start to happen immediately or it may take a couple of hours. Also pay attention to your signal indicator before starting. No signal = no activation.
  9. If nothing happens after 4 hours or if you receive an error, please call Rodney Sermons at 5-8547 or email him at  rsermo@lsuhsc.edu .
